How did we set this price?

Let’s start with the problem we’re trying to solve at Vively — lifestyle-driven disease. Over 50% of the population has some form of lifestyle-driven disease, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and obesity. Over 70% of deaths around the world are a result of these preventable conditions. This is without a doubt the largest health crisis that faces humanity.

Our current healthcare system is great at many things, but it hasn’t been designed for disease that is driven by our lifestyle and behaviours, and that often manifests over decades.

Vively’s vision is to build a new model of healthcare that puts lifestyle and behaviour change at the heart of the system.

We believe that this is the best way to solve the problem long-term.

To do this, Vively has pulled together a highly skilled team of integrative doctors, software engineers, designers, practitioners and behavioural scientists to turn decades of health experience and more than a hundred years of science into an easy-to-use app for the everyday person.

On top of that, if you opt in, you’ve got access to an accredited practising dietitian based in Australia that you can message through the app at any time to support you with personalised diet and lifestyle advice.

As a startup with crazy huge ambitions, this is all very expensive for us to create.

As an example, Dr Michelle Woolhouse, our Founding Medical Director, has spent over 20 years analysing blood glucose and other physiological factors to provide highly targeted lifestyle and behavioural medicine in her clinic. A consultation with an integrative doctor with similar experience would cost north of $300 per session. We’re providing you with access to her knowledge through the app’s content and insights system.

So, while the current membership price has made accessing important medical information much more affordable, there’s still plenty of work to do to bring the price down even further. Vively is currently relying on its initial customers and a small group of highly encouraging investors to fund the development of the platform. Over time, as we invest in building a better platform, this will bring more members and in turn will enable us to lower the prices even further.

In order to solve the lifestyle disease crisis at scale, we need to get Vively into as many hands as possible. To do this, we need a highly affordable platform, but it’s going to take some time to get there.

Why do we only get 1 CGM sensor in the quarterly membership?

Constantly wearing a glucose monitor is very expensive and out of reach for a lot of people.

That's why Vively has designed a system that only requires 14 days worth of glucose data every 3 months. Once we have your data, our algorithms and dietitian use that data to help you implement your insights and learnings, in a measurable way. Then, in 3 months time, we re-calibrate your glucose data with another sensor. That way, we bring the cost right down for you, but you're still able to adapt to any changes in your diet and lifestyle.

That said, you can purchase additional CGM systems through the app at cost price whenever you like. We recommend purchasing additional sensors if there have been any major changes to your diet and lifestyle, such as overseas travel or trying a new diet.
